Ratan Tata's younger brother lives in a 2bhk flat in Mumbai, doesn't use a mobile phone

Ata Sons Chairman Ratan Tata currently took to Instagram to share a glimpse of his early life.

Tata shared childhood photos of him along with his brother Jimmy Tata. The black and white photo that the billionaire shared was apparently clicked in the year 1945.

Not much is known about Jimmy Tata, but back in 2020, RPG Group chairman Harsh Goenka shared a image of Jimmy Tata and brought him to the world.

"Did you know of Ratan Tata's more youthful brother Jimmy Tata who lives a quiet reticent existence in a humble 2bhk flat in Colaba, Mumbai!" Goenka's post read.

"Never interested in business, he was a very good squash player and would beat me every time. Low profile like the Tata group!" the post further added.

Though it is believed that Jimmy Tata was never interested in business, he is a shareholder in Tata Sons, TCS, Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Tata Chemicals, Indian Hotels, and Tata Power.

For the unaware, he was adopted by Ratanji Tata's wife Navabai after the death of his father. He belonged to a middle-class Parsi family, several media reports suggest.

Past reports suggest that the younger Tata doesn't own a mobile phone and also that his signature bears a certain resemblance to his elder brother Ratan Tata.

It is also said that Jimmy Tata rarely steps out of his apartment and is also extremely wary of visitors.

According to a Times of India report published in 2016, Jimmy Tata told the publication that he started his career with the Tata Group under his father in the textile business.
